As with water so to is rhythm and movement a part of every aspect of our lives. As we are all aware there are the rhythms of nature such as ebb and flow of tides, the waxing and waning of the moon, the sunrise and sunset, the change of the seasons, the moving of the earth and of the planets, the whole cosmic system and the structure of the entire universe are working under the law of rhythm.
Our body too is working in a rhythm, the beat of our pulse, our heartbeat, pulsing in our head, the circulation of our blood, our hunger and thirst. Rhythm plays an important part not only in our body, but our mind as well; the change from laughter to tears, the rise and fall of our thoughts, feelings and emotions. Our greatest rhythm is our breath, the constant and natural rise and fall of our chest whether we are asleep or awake, it flows continually and keeps our mind and body connected, our mind and soul connected.
The body loves a balance between movement and stillness, similar to water and rhythm, We see it in our oceans, rivers and streams, in music we listen too, there is that continual cycle of energy and quiet. Our body reflects these elements, if we do too much of either we lose our natural flow. Too much lying around can make us sluggish and lethargic due to lack of circulation of blood and energy. Constant movement leaves us with a frazzled, overwhelmed sensation. By taking notice of these states we should allow ourselves a moment at any time throughout the day to sit or lay back, exhale deeply and listen quietly. During a fuzzy unclear time, we should stand, walk or simply stretch to allow the flow of energy to return to our body. Holistic Pulsing can assist with the body’s continual quest for balance, the rhythmical pulsing movement can be very quiet or become vigorous, the movement also can be continuous or fade to periods of total stillness before beginning again.
Just for a moment take time to reflect on our children … movement and play come naturally to most children, over time we as adults have forgotten to move with childlike spontaneity, that joy and grace. We were born with an instinct for movement. As babies we express by movement, even before we learn to speak. While playing or dancing to music, the body language of little children is completely at ease. This movement is suppressed in adulthood.
Maybe now is a good time for you to stand back for a moment and take a good hard look at yourself. How does your body feel right now? Is it stiff and sore, are your neck and shoulders aching? What about your lower back? With Holistic Pulsing there is a gentle way to regain some of the flexibility and ease of movement you have slowly lost since childhood.
Holistic Pulsing can help you to once again experience that wonderful fluidity of movement in your body, encouraging balance, flexibility, vitality and energy.
In most ancient cultures, rhythmic movement and dance were an integral part of community living. The Shamans (medicine men) used movement as part of their healing rituals to cure people of mental or physical ailments. With the assistance of Holistic Pulsing through its gentle pulsating motion the body’s most natural urge to move is satisfied. The movement allows special neurotransmitter substances: ‘endorphins,’ to increase, creating a sense of well-being. Blood circulation increases. Stress and tension, which has accumulated in different body parts, melt away and people stop thinking for a while! – aaahhh bliss! Upon reaching that state those seeking self-renewal and growth begin to heal themselves discovering new feelings and finding freedom in unblocked self-expression through the body.
Remember, it is the breaking of our natural rhythms that cause stress and dis-ease, movement through Holistic Pulsing is one path we can take returning to our natural state of balance through ease and gentleness.
